The MICE Research Institute was established in 2010 as the survey & research institute for the Congress Corporation Group, the first private sector think tank in Japan specializing in MICE (Meetings, Incentive Travel, Conventions, Exhibitions & Events).
Congress Corporation, MICE Research Institute's parent company, has been engaged ever since its inception in all areas of the MICE industry. Its endeavors have centered on research, bidding, planning and operation of many domestic and international meetings, as well as related exhibitions and events. Congress Corporation's portfolio today also includes planning and managing operations for tourism, cultural and conference facilities, as well as consulting.
Based on this wealth of experience of the Congress Corporation Group, MICE Research Institute has been expanding and strengthening our scope of practical surveys and research. In addition, as our consulting is founded on practical experience, we have earned a reputation as the brainEof the MICE industry among regional governments all over the country as well as other major think tanks, developers, general contractors and other players.
Dedicated efforts are now being made on a national scale to promote Japan as a tourism-oriented country and MICE plays a pivotal role in this respect. We believe that surveys and research in this field, particularly those based on practical experience, have great significance and are indeed part of our mission as a working member of the MICE industry.

Why the MICE Research Institute was established
Congress Corporation, as a leading company in the convention industry, has accumulated a broad range of achievements in planning and operation of domestic & international meetings, exhibitions and events, as well as in research and design of PFI/PPP initiatives.
Over the years, we recognized that we should fulfill our social responsibility by harnessing our strengths and experience to respond to the demand for more in-depth surveys and research spanning the multi-faceted MICE business, as well as strong consulting capability, which led to the establishment of this think tank specializing in the MICE industry.
